The Russian government has submitted to the State Duma a bill that allows the sanctions to be extended to a company in which more than 25% of foreign individuals and legal entities have a share, against which economic measures have already been taken.

This was reported by RIA Novosti.

The document, if adopted, will oblige credit institutions, insurance companies, non-state pension funds, pawnshops, telecom operators, gambling organizers and lottery operators to block transactions with money or other property of persons under sanctions.

At the same time, it is proposed to allow the Bank of Russia to revoke licenses from supervised organizations in the event of repeated violations on their part during the year.

It is noted that the innovations can be extended to the restrictions introduced against Ukraine in 2018.

In May, Ukraine extended sanctions against Russian TV channels.
